Overview

HiFi Pig is one of the UK's most respected hi-fi and audio publications, built up over many years with a vast archive of equipment reviews, industry news, and audio features. With content running well into the tens of thousands of posts, the site needed a complete rebuild — one that could handle archive scale without sacrificing speed, clarity, or search visibility.

The Challenge

A publication with a large content archive faces a specific problem: the volume of content that makes it valuable is the same thing that can make it slow to load, hard to navigate, and difficult for search engines to index properly. The rebuild had to preserve the existing archive and its SEO equity while introducing a structure that would work for readers arriving at any article — not just the homepage.

The Solution

The build started with content architecture: a clear category structure, navigation system, and article layout that made the full archive browsable without becoming overwhelming. A cleaner editorial design was introduced to give every content type a more readable, consistent presentation. The technical foundation was rebuilt for performance — proper heading hierarchy, clean URL structure, faster page delivery, and a crawlable site structure that could support the archive's continued growth.
