Overview
Edges in Motion needed an ecommerce store that could present a specialist product range with the clarity and confidence its audience expects. I created a custom-coded ecommerce experience rather than relying on a template-based setup, giving the brand a store designed around its products and the way customers browse and buy.
The project brought together ecommerce design, custom frontend development, product UX, SEO structure, and performance optimisation. The aim was to make the range easier to explore, keep the buying journey straightforward, and create a digital storefront that better reflected the quality of the brand and its niche retail offer.
The Challenge
For a niche retail brand, the ecommerce experience needed to do more than provide a basic route to checkout. Customers needed clear product information, natural navigation through the range, and a shopping journey that felt considered enough to build trust before they committed to a purchase.
Generic ecommerce platforms can provide a quick starting point, but their default patterns can make a store feel assembled rather than tailored. The challenge was to avoid that ceiling while maintaining a clean, focused experience: product pages needed to support informed decisions, the structure needed to support browsing, and page performance could not become a barrier on different devices or connections.
The Solution
I designed and custom-coded the store around the product range and customer journey. The frontend was built to support clean layouts and fast page delivery, while the navigation structure was shaped around how customers browse the range rather than around a generic store template.
Product UX was a central part of the build. I structured product pages to give customers the information they need to move towards purchase without unnecessary clutter or distraction, helping the store communicate product quality with greater clarity.
I also incorporated SEO structure and performance optimisation into the ecommerce build. Keeping the implementation lean supported a faster experience across devices and connections, while the site structure provided a stronger foundation for the store's product-led content.
The Result
Edges in Motion now has a live custom-coded ecommerce store that gives the brand a more considered digital retail presence. The experience provides a clear route from product discovery through browsing and towards purchase, with product information and navigation designed to support customer confidence.
The finished store reflects the quality of the brand more closely than a default template-based setup, while its lean frontend supports a fast experience on every device. It also brings ecommerce design, product UX, SEO structure, and performance considerations into one focused shopping experience for a niche audience.
