Overview
I designed and built a custom ecommerce store for Electus Collective, a clothing and lifestyle brand that needed its online presence to reflect the care behind its products. Rather than relying on a generic shop template, I created a storefront with product presentation, brand identity, and the customer journey at its centre.
This was a custom website design project built to give the brand more control over how customers browse, evaluate, and shop. The site has launched with a foundation intended to support the business as it grows.
The Challenge
Electus Collective needed an ecommerce store that did not feel interchangeable with other online shops. Off-the-shelf platform templates can make it quick to launch, but they can also limit how a brand presents its products and create an experience that looks and works much like everyone else’s.
I needed to create a store that felt distinctive while keeping the path from browsing to checkout clear and straightforward. The build also needed to perform well across devices without adding the weight or complexity of an overcomplicated platform.
The Solution
I custom-coded the store around fast loading, clean product presentation, and an intuitive shopping flow for customers on any device. Category pages, product pages, and checkout were designed to carry the same visual language, giving the store a consistent brand experience from first browse through to purchase.
I also built SEO structure into the site from the outset, creating a stronger technical base for organic visibility as the brand develops. The approach focused on a tailored ecommerce experience rather than adapting the brand to the limits of a one-size-fits-all template.
The Result
Electus Collective launched with a live ecommerce storefront designed to feel more aligned with its brand and products. The new store provides a clearer customer journey, stronger product presentation, and a more credible online presence than a generic template-led setup.
The custom-coded foundation was built to support future growth while keeping performance, usability, and brand consistency in focus. For another example of a tailored ecommerce build, see the Edges in Motion case study.
