Overview

Atlantic Cold is a long-established refrigerated transportation company serving customers who need temperature-controlled freight, frozen transport and cold-storage services.

The project was an opportunity to take a business with decades of history and give it a much more contemporary digital presence without losing the practical, no-nonsense character of the company.

Rather than treating the website as a simple list of freight services, I wanted it to feel connected to the physical side of the business — the trucks, movement and infrastructure that actually make the service possible.

That led to one of the project's defining features: an interactive 3D truck experience that gives the site a much stronger visual identity than a conventional logistics website.

The Challenge

Atlantic Cold operates in an industry where reliability matters considerably more than visual novelty.

Customers need to understand what can be transported, whether temperature requirements can be maintained, which areas are covered and whether the company has the infrastructure and experience to handle the shipment.

The existing business already had strong practical credentials, including refrigerated and frozen truckload and less-than-truckload transportation, storage, shipment tracking and 24-hour operations.

The challenge was presenting that information in a way that felt current and easier to navigate while avoiding the generic corporate aesthetic common across logistics websites.

I also wanted the site to communicate the physical scale of the operation rather than relying entirely on stock photography of trucks and warehouses.

The Solution

I redesigned the website around Atlantic Cold's core refrigerated transportation services, giving important information a clearer hierarchy and making the company easier to understand for prospective customers.

Service content was organised around the practical needs of shippers, including temperature-controlled transportation, truckload and less-than-truckload freight and supporting cold-chain services.

Visually, the project moves away from the standard logistics-template look.

One of the main creative elements is a custom interactive 3D truck viewer based around a Freightliner M2-106. Visitors can explore the vehicle as a three-dimensional object rather than simply seeing another static fleet photograph.

The feature gives the website something memorable while still being directly connected to the business itself.

That was important to me. Interactive elements work best when they tell you something about the company rather than existing purely as decoration.

The wider interface was designed responsively so service information, calls to action and visual elements remain usable across desktop and mobile.

The Result

The finished project gives Atlantic Cold a much stronger digital representation of the company behind the logistics operation.

The practical side of the website remains central: customers can understand the transportation services, capabilities and cold-chain focus without having to work through an overly complicated interface.

At the same time, the 3D truck experience gives the site a recognisable visual feature that feels specific to Atlantic Cold.

For me, it is a good example of how an industrial or logistics website does not have to be visually anonymous.

The subject matter itself can provide the creative direction.

In this case, the truck is not background decoration. It is part of the business, part of the brand and ultimately part of the experience of the website.
